Dear DB residents,

As you might have already read from the newspaper, New World First Ferry Services Limited and Hong Kong & Kowloon Ferry Holdings Limited routes connecting Hong Kong and the outlying islands will cut fares by 10 per cent in July due to the drop in oil prices. Yet, no cuts are planned for our ferry fare, even though HKR receives a range of Government subsidies for the DB ferry. I am collecting signatures to urge the Transport Department to:

  1. take immediate action to reduce DB ferry fares, so that our treatment is on par with other ferry services; and
  2. release operating data and financial performance of DB ferries, as specified in the existing licence conditions.

I also draw your attention to the petition against Hong Kong Resort Co Ltd’s plan to build a golf cart parking lot on the lawn area in Discovery Bay Recreation Club. This is a new petition based on the fresh objection to HKR's amended proposal to redevelop the lawn area. HKR has announced that it will take over the lawn area on 10 May, so your support is urgently needed!
