E-waste Collection

Dear DB residents,

Re: Talk on e-Book Services

We all enjoy a good book. Although we do not have a public library in DB, a mobile library visits DB every Tuesday and Thursday. It is very popular with DB residents, achieving the highest usage rate in the Islands District.

Still, many of you may hope for a more convenient service. In this regard, I am very pleased to inform you that the Government has launched an e-Book service, which is available to anyone with a computer or tablet. After installing the free-of-charge software, over 200,000 English and Chinese e-books are available for download. It is easy to enjoy a good book whenever we want.

At a recent Islands District Council meeting, I requested that the Public Library send representatives to DB to introduce its e-Book and e-Database services. They have now kindly accepted, and will make a presentation in DB at the following time and place:

Date:  26 April 2015 (Sunday)        Time:   2:30pm - 4:00pm

Venue: Multipurpose Hall at the DB Community Centre (DB North)

Please also refer to the poster for details. Since the venue can accommodate 400 people, there is no need to register. Attendance is on a first-come-first-served basis.

Please feel free to forward this message to your friends and neighbours in DB.

Yours sincerely,

Amy Yung

Islands District Council Member (Discovery Bay)
