Question on increasing golf cart parking spaces in Discovery Bay

Ms Amy YUNG notified this Council that she would raise the following enquiry at the Traffic and Transport Committee (T&TC) meeting to be held on 22 March 2021:

“ The developer tore down almost hundred golf cart parking spaces years ago when developing Discovery Bay Plaza Phase 18.  Although it promised to make compensation, the majority of parking spaces are provided in Discovery Bay Recreation Club and non-members are not allowed to use them.  The parking spaces previously provided at Nim Shue Wan were also removed.  The cart owners are now forced to park far away from the pier but the parking spaces offer no more than three hours’ parking or cart owners will be fined some $300.

In this connection, I request the representative of Discovery Bay Services Management Limited to attend the meeting to explain the reduction of golf cart parking spaces and indicate whether it will identify places for provision of parking spaces as soon as possible. ”
