Dear DB residents,
Re: No Excessive Levels of Lead Found in DB Water Samples
Further to my email of 28 July 2015 assuring DB residents that four water samples taken from Peninsula, Beach and Greenvale villages, and the Plaza did not contain excessive levels of lead, a number of residents approached me to request that I take additional samples.
The following list shows the dates and places where the 28 samples were taken for testing by the Hong Kong Productivity Council.

All samples were taken by DB residents. Clear instructions were given that water samples should be taken early in the morning using clean bottles provided by the HK Productivity Council.
According to the Guidelines for Drinking-water Quality issued by the World Health Organization, the health-based guideline value for lead is no more than 10 ug/L.
I am pleased to inform you that all tests recorded lead levels significantly below this level. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those DB residents who helped me in conducting these tests.
Yours sincerely,
Amy Yung
Islands District Council Member (Discovery Bay)
