Dear DB residents,
You may be aware that the Environment Bureau has proposed to build a mega-incinerator at Shek Kwu Chau, a pristine island near Cheung Chau, to handle 3,000 tons of waste daily as part of the Integrated Waste Management Facilities (IWMF) plan. Please refer to the following hyperlink:

The proposal, and the site selection in particular, was strongly opposed by the Islands District Council on 16th December 2013.
As a HK citizen I do believe that we have a responsibility to reduce, reuse and recycle any waste that we generate. This has to be pursued ahead of any IWMF plan. The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) is conducting a consultation on Municipal Solid Waste Charging. You may visit the website through the attached link. The due date for your submission is 24th January 2014.
