Re: DB Crime Rates

Dear DB Residents,

Many of you will have received notices from Buildings Department (BD) regarding the Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme, which came into effect on 30th June, 2012. Under this Scheme, BD may serve statutory notices to owners of buildings aged 10 years or above (except domestic buildings not exceeding 3 storeys) once every 5 years for window inspection. Each year, the BD will select appropriate number of buildings for serving the statutory notices.

Some of the apartments in DB have been selected as target buildings under the scheme for inspection. In order for owners to understand their obligations I have invited BD to give us a briefing on the scheme.

In addition, since the tendering of these projects might involve significant amounts, I have also invited representatives from the ICAC to give a talk to enhance owners’ knowledge on the relevant sections of the Prevention of Bribery Ordinance and regulations in relation to the duties and responsibilities of owners’ representatives in preventing corruption and other malpractices.

Details of the briefings are as follows:

Date:               21st June, 2014 (Saturday)
Time:              10:00am – 12:00pm
Venue:            Community Hall at DB North
Languages:      English and Cantonese

You, your friends and neighbours are invited to join us and express you valuable opinions.

Please feel free to forward this message to your friends and neighbours in DB.

Yours sincerely

Amy Yung
